I am a native of NC, born and raised in the Yadkin County area located very close to Winston-Salem. My family is very musical. My father continues to play fiddle at various events and festivals and my mother plays piano and sings. My parents were very influential in the early development of my musical career. While still in High School, I was a member of one of the first all female Bluegrass Bands and performed in a variety of Bluegrass competitions and festivals throughout the Carolinas and Virginia. Meanwhile, I played flute in my High School Band and studied classical Violin through private lessons at the School of Arts in Winston-Salem.

After completing High School, I attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education with honors. After College, I taught at a private school for a period of three years. I was also hired as a featured vocalist and instrumentalist at a very large, family oriented ,theater in Hickory, NC.

Thus, my career in Country Music began at this theater in Hickory, NC called "Country Adventures" where I performed for eight years as a featured vocalist and instrumentalist.. In addition to my performances at Country Adventures, I was an opening act for Reba McEntire, Tanya Tucker, Lori Morgan, Emmylou Harris, Steve Wariner, Ronnie Milsap, Gene Watson, Sawyer Brown, Bellamy Brothers, Marie Osmond, Billy Joe Royal, Carlene Carter, Tom T. Hall, Connie Smith, Ronnie McDowell, Mel Tillis and Sweethearts of the Rodeo to name a few.

In 1991, I moved to Nashville, taking the big step of faith and determination. Since moving to Nashville, I have been fortunate to have performed in many different venues and have made many talented and famous musical friends. I toured throughout the U.S. with a Nashville based group called "The Nashville Country Music Revue" for a couple of years. I have also been a performer at the Opryland Theme Park for two seasons. I was a featured vocalist and fiddle player with the Bluegrass group "White Water" in the Martin Guitar Theater and appeared with this group on a televised portion of the Bill Monroe segment of the Grand Ole Opry. I also performed in the Durango Theater with the singing impressionist "Johnny Counterfit".

I was the staff fiddle player and featured Vocalist at the Nashville Palace, where I  performed from 1994 -1999, five to six nights a week. In 96 & 97 I also performed in Nikko Japan at the Western Theme Village. I have also been a featured singer with the "Nashville Swing Band" with the legendary fiddler Buddy Spicher who was a very influential part of my country/western swing CD, "I'll Be There".

As well as working at the Nashville Palace for five years, I have  performed at many concerts and showcases with  new up and coming artists such as Julie Reeves on Virgin Records, Mindy McCready on Capitol Records, Lila McCann on Warner Bros. Records and Jill King on Blue Diamond Records.

I also do demo sessions for various artists and songwriters. In addition I continue to pursue my songwriting career which is starting to gain some attention. I hope you will listen to my original songs in the sound bite section of the audio page.  I have also recorded my original songs on both of the "HeartStrings" CDs.

I have worked in the road bands of Julie Reeves, Mindy McCready,  Lila McCann and Jill King as harmony vocalist, fiddle and acoustic guitar player.

Christmas Trio at the Ryman

In addition, I have performed at in town venues, such as the Ryman Auditorium..  In  June 2000,  I performed at a festival in Vinstra, Norway as fiddler, acoustic player, harmony vocalist and Featured Artist with independent label,  Universal Sound Records.

My country/western swing CD, "I'll Be There", has received  world wide air play in the U.S. and overseas and is done well on  the International Independent Charts.   I also recorded a Christmas Album for the year 2000, which has gotten very good response from the Folk/Americana DJs in the US.  I have toured the US and Canada with the all-female bluegrass band, the" Heartstrings" (2001-2006).  We  recorded a two CDs, one released in 2002 and another in 2004.  Both CDs received airplay in the US and internationally.  I am currently re-grouping the band as the solo artist, front person, and am recording another, mostly original, bluegrass CD, due for release in 2007.  Myself and band are continuing to perform at such local venues as the Station Inn and many bluegrass festivals around the US.
